The Flame 5 is a high-performance carbon-plated running shoe, designed for speed, stability and sustainability. This update pushes marathon technology to the limit, delivering a more aggressive ride while keeping the comfort you need for the final kilometres.

Sustainable speed (the upper)

Made with a commitment to the planet, the upper features a recycled corn-based yarn (65% ETPU / 35% Nylon). This eco-friendly mesh is ultralight, breathable and highly abrasion-resistant.

Precision fit: the MORPHIT lacing system and the asymmetric Comfort-Fit tongue give you a secure midfoot lockdown while eliminating lace pressure on the instep.

Flexible support: a “Heel No-Counter” design reduces weight and lets the shoe adapt to your foot, while the Big 3 logo provides structural lateral support.

Maximum energy return (the midsole)

The platform has been updated to give your foot a greater sense of “push”, thanks to elite-level cushioning.

Higher stack: midsole thickness has increased by 3 mm (now 39 mm at the heel), approaching the maximum limit allowed by the IAAF for maximum impact protection.

Premium materials: thanks to the VESTAMID® PEBA midsole and the 4 mm moulded supercritical sockliner, the Flame 5 delivers explosive bounce and softness with every stride.

Optimised stability (the geometry):

to handle the higher midsole stack, the shoe’s geometry has been refined for a smoother transition.

Rocker Tech: a repositioned, rearward heel rocker improves stability, which especially benefits midfoot and heel strikers.

Strategic weight reduction: the strategic cut-out in the midsole reduces bulk while keeping the transition responsive and propulsive.
